Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce

Whenever you need to make an important decision it would be useful if you could have someone to talk to – someone who could take an objective and independent view and yet is experienced and reliable, and determined to act in your best interests.  An experienced mentor can take a look at your business by identifying new avenues for development and assessing any barriers to growth.

The Chamber has recognised that businesses often need this kind of outside advice and has set up a new service to give the one-to-one guidance which people often need. We have assembled a team of very experienced business people, all of whom have run successful businesses and have a track record in coaching and mentoring. They have substantial collective experience in start-ups, developing established businesses, fund-raising, M & A, MBOs and exit strategies.

The Chamber matches the applicant to the most appropriate mentor. At an initial meeting the mentor analyses the current position of the business, identify strengths and weaknesses, and charts a future path for growth.  This initial conversation is free but then an action plan and fee structure is agreed, which might also include a referral to other specialists within the Chamber’s extensive membership base or other appropriate bodies within the enterprise community.

The Chamber’s mentoring panel operates in the Leeds and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership areas – essentially West and North Yorkshire.
