SWEDA (Sandwell Women’s Enterprise Agency Ltd)

SWEDA has been providing mentoring, advice, guidance, counselling, training and mentoring to clients within Sandwell since 1989. We provide services to clients from diverse communities (Over 50% of our clients are from BAME communities)  all wards in Sandwell and surrounding areas in the Black Country. Local residents can access a wide range of training and support, geared towards getting a job, gaining and improving their skills (e.g. in IT, Employability ), as well as starting their own Business / Social Enterprise.

SWEDA’s unique selling point is its approach to its clients this translates into a warm, friendly environment and on-going long-term support. This assistance and support enables and empowers people to start and manage their own businesses and to access jobs, training and further education.

SWEDA offers a range of services, to both men and women. We also support young people and NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training) young people.

We offer training and learning to suit the needs of people accessing our advice services, as well as those who come specifically to improve their skills. SWEDA therefore offers a range of accredited and non-accredited courses, broadly covering Personal/Professional Development, Business skills, knowledge and information Technology as well as short accredited courses.

We are experienced in the delivery of wide range of DWP / JCP, Connexions Service, National/Regional/Local Government and European Funded contracts through other Partnerships/ Consortiums, including the ‘Growing the Social Enterprise Sector in the West Midlands’ project.
