TiE UK is a not-for-profit organisation driven by a belief in community development through wealth generation. 

We exist to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs and our Mentoring Programme is the most concrete way of achieving this goal.  TiE UK regards the Mentoring Programme as its main priority, and the most valuable service it offers to entrepreneurs.

Through this programme, TiE links its General Members with its Charter Members - prominent entrepreneurs who voluntarily support the next generation of entrepreneurs through advice and access to contacts. To optimize this process, TiE has developed a complementary mentoring stage in which a business coach holds one-to-one mentoring sessions twice a month at the British Library’s Business & IP Centre, covering issues such as marketing strategies, business management and fundraising.

TiE UK Mentoring Programme - Overview:

  • Stage 1: Mentees attend mentoring sessions with TiE’s on-site mentor. Objectives:
    • Identify their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
    • Take action on specific needs: e.g. funding, marketing, research, planning
    • Develop a plan and roadmap for starting or growing a business
    • Boost clarity, confidence, belief, time / self management, and organizational skills
    • Begin to identify their mentoring needs and pinpoint a mentor suited to them and their business
  • Stage 2: Mentees are matched to a TiE UK Charter Member. Objectives:
    • Learn ‘first hand’ from someone who has “been there and done that”
    • Gain support around the specific issues that are relevant for them / their business
    • Gain expertise on issues relevant for aspiring entrepreneurs
    • Fast-track their business with someone who knows the pitfalls and success strategies

The TiE UK mentoring programme has been running successfully for 11 years and has supported over 200 businesses in both London and Manchester.
