Transforming Neuadd Lwyd into a stylish country retreat

Transforming Neuadd Lwyd into a stylish country retreat

In her early fifties, Susannah Wood decided to make a career and lifestyle change from midwife to country hotel and restaurant owner.

After graduating from Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork, Ireland, one of Europe’s foremost cookery schools, Susannah purchased Neuadd Lwyd, a fine grey-stoned early Victorian rectory in Anglesey, North Wales. She wanted to turn it into a country retreat, but needing support she turned to her local mentoring organisation, PRIME Cymru.

Susannah worked with PRIME Cymru to set up her new venture and transformed the building, restoring and tastefully refurbishing it. Neuadd Lwyd is now an elegant, stylish and successful country retreat, receiving rave reviews from national and local media.
