Shine P&P (SPP) was set up in 2004 having identified a gap in the market for the provision of management training coupled with mentoring, especially for people in middle management / supervisory roles. Since its inception Shine has been promoting the value of mentoring as an effective, low-cost and flexible business tool that taps into the existing human resources of any organisation. Shine has developed its own material to deliver coach/mentoring training in the form of a ‘Mentoring Toolkit’, ‘Mentor Guide’ and ‘Mentee Guide’ as well as a variety of training resources that respond to organisations’ needs. Shine works predominantly with the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel & Tourism industries in the South East and North West of England however; its reach is UK- wide. Shine has developed strong links with public sector organisations such as People 1 (HLTT Sector Skills Council); Skills Active (Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure, Learning and Well-Being) and before that with a number of Regional Development Agencies. Shine has also got strong links both with Middlesex University, City University and London Metropolitan University with whom it is running both mentoring and diversity projects.
