Bessacarr Dog Walking

Bessacarr Dog Walking

Not enough time to walk your dog? Let Bessacarr Dog Walking do it for you..

Annemarie Brookes of Bessacarr has always loved dogs and walking has also been one of her biggest passions, belonging to a number of organised walking groups and being group leader on walks for the Ramblers and the Leeds Walking Group. She also worked as a walking guide in Slovenia for 6 months: her favourite walking destination.

Surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Annemarie is out and about most weekends often with one of the family dogs as her companion. She loves the enjoyment and excitement dogs have from being taken out for a walk.

After speaking to a number of people who love the companionship of a dog but find it difficult to provide the exercise they need, she decided to combine her love of walking with setting up her own dog walking service and in March 2013 she established her own business: Bessacarr Dog Walking.

Annemarie sought initial advice and support from Business Doncaster and received assistance in getting her business up and running as well as attending a training workshop on ‘social media’ and how to promote your business.

The Doncaster 100 mentoring programme was also a great help to her with well- structured meetings in place with her business mentor.

“Having the opportunity to spend an hour or two bouncing ideas around has been invaluable and developing those ideas into actions has already helped Bessacarr Dog Walking to secure two new clients” she said. “The meetings have been really productive and my mentor has been incredibly organised and professional. She has very kindly kept notes and compiled action plans at the end of each meeting as a reminder to me”.

Bessacarr Dog Walking is now on Twitter, Facebook and meetups.com with over 500 followers so far! The business provides services to clients that are at work all day but want to ensure their dogs are exercised. Elderly and disabled people who find it difficult to get out with their dogs are also accessing the services.
